This year’s Malachi Run shirts feature a great design with an outline of Cleveland on top of a sneaker! They are available in long and short sleeves in a soft tech fabric. We have both unisex and a ladies cut which features a V neck. Most sizes are available including youth sizes. Long sleeve are $20 and short sleeve are $15. The 41st annual St. Malachi Run is Saturday, September 18, 2021. We need parishioners, family, and friends to volunteer and/or participate in this fun event and the parish’s major annual fund-raiser. We need people to help in multiple roles the day of the race and with packet pick-up at locations in Willoughby, Lakewood and McCarthy’s the week before the race. The parish’s biggest fundraiser, the Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Malachi Church Run and WALK will be held on September 18, 2021 with Honorary Chair, Channel 8’s Kenny Crumpton. The event will feature Mass, 2 and 5 mile run/walk, a Post Race Hooley, and fantastic September temperatures! Although the Run is a fundraiser, it is SO much more! We minister to the needs of the inner city youth by letting hundreds of kids run for free. We are hoping to have a free wheel chair division this year. You never know the ways that God will call you to serve! The Run is a great community builder for the Parish! There are so many ways in which you can be involved that we are striving for 100% participation. You can come to Mass, volunteer, walk 2 miles, cheer on the runners, donate, go to the Hooley, be a sponsor, provide a sponsorship lead to the committee, have your picture taken with Kenny Crumpton and come see the Irish dancers and the bag pipers. There will be no bad weather excuses not to get out and to support those most in need. We believe that the event will be the largest celebration of Irish culture in Cleveland in 2021, so don’t miss out on the fun! Won’t you please help build our Malachi community by participating in OUR biggest fundraiser and party??? We hope to see you in your GREEN glory on September 18th!

As we wrap up the month of March, we are wrapping up our Food Drive. What a COVID success story! When we could not host our annual event, we pivoted and had a food drive instead. We collected 6,056 food items and cash donations of $2,095! Over 50% of our donations came from new donors that saw our news story on Channels 5 and 19. THANK YOU to our business partners, Second Sole of Lakewood, Achilles Running Shops, Willoughby and Cleveland Heights and Ritchies Sporting Goods. Please support these local businesses and mark your calendars for the Historic Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day St. Malachi Church Run/Walk on 9/18/2021! With a 2 mile walking distance and lovely September weather, let’s make this a real Parish community event!
We need volunteers at this time for two different responsibilities. We need several people to assist with creating distribution lists for our Run marketing materials. This involves doing an internet search by city of all the gyms, recreation centers, coffee shops and any place that has a community bulletin board, then compiling the results into a Word doc, Excel file, an email, or on paper (last resort). Once we have the list described above we will need an army of volunteers to distribute the post cards to various locations. Interested? Join in the fun and help with our 40th Anniversary MALACHI Run on Sat., March 14, 2020! We need folks stationed around campus to direct our many guests, High-5 the walkers/runners as they complete their journeys, help our guests take selfies, and various other tasks as the need arises that morning.
