A trainer from Thriving Congregations, a grant we’ve been privileged to receive through the Lily Foundation, will walk us through ideas to make our hearts and physical spaces best able to welcome others into God’s love! Have you noticed the new faces at Mass? Are they new to St. Malachi Parish or did they go to a different Mass? How do you react? It certainly is more complicated with all of us wearing masks and sitting 6 feet apart. Remember the call of our Mission Statement:

Serving those who are poor and in need.
As members of St. Malachi Parish, we are all called to be welcoming. Please use these weeks of Lent to look around you to see who is there, feel your response to the idea of going over to introduce yourself, (maintaining social distancing – six feet) and ask the Holy Spirit to grace you through the Eucharist to be ever more open to the Ministry of Welcome. After Easter, the Parish Council and the Fruitful Disciples will develop a new welcome packet and several strategies for us all to join in the call to build our parish up for the greater honor and glory of God.
