The mission of the Greeters ministry is to greet parishioners, prospective parishioners and visitors in a manner in which they know they are welcome and become comfortable as they arrive and leave St. Malachi; to direct people who are unfamiliar with the church campus so as to enable them to reach their destination easily; to provide practical assistance as needed to people entering and leaving the church and parish grounds.
Volunteers are needed for this ministry. Talents and skills needed include an outgoing personality, the ability to be warm, friendly and welcoming to all people, the ability to recognize both newcomers and parishioners, promptness, knowledge about the church facilities, reliability, the ability to both come early and remain after liturgy.
Greeters are scheduled for all Masses on a rotating basis. The time commitment is to arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to Mass and to stay for 10 minutes after it concludes.
