Saint Malachi men and their friends are invited to share an Illuman “Summer Wandering” event on Saturday, August 22 from 10:00AM to 3:00 PM at Camp Koinonia, 6810 Cold Springs Road, Geneva, Ohio.

Holy Land Gifts Sale 8/8/2015 & 8/9/2015
On Saturday and Sunday August 8 and 9, 2015 after all Masses, there will be a display of handmade religious articles for sale such as: nativity scenes, crucifix, rosary, the last supper and many more religious articles. Because of the ongoing regional conflict, many Christian families in Bethlehem are struggling to make ends meet.Holy Land Gifts represents over 100 Christian families who make a living selling traditional olive-wood handcrafts and religious articles.
Thank you for supporting this project to keep the Christians
present in the holy land of Jesus’ birth.

Rosso Gelato – Fundraiser – 8/2/2015
Come join us for dessert any of the first three Sundays in August – August 2, August 9 or August 16, 2015 from 6:00PM to 10:00PM at Rosso Gelato. A portion of the profits will be sent to St. Malachi Parish for our 150th anniversary year. Rosso offers something for everyone – gelato, dairy-free sorbettos, macarons, Italian-style coffee and soft drinks in an authentic, modern, Italian environment.

There is some street parking on Old Detroit Road, of you can use Depot Street to access ample parking behind the building, and you can use the lighted walkway next to the store for easy access to the front door.

Evening Speaker Series – both topics and speakers. There have already been some suggested topics including:
In collaboration with the 150th Anniversary, an evening about Celtic Spirituality. An evening about St. Angela Merici and the early Ursuline Sisters.
Learning more about Pope Francis’ declaration of this year as the Year of Mercy. Learning more about Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si—On Care of Our Common Home. Are there any Catholic prayer forms you would attend on Wednesday evenings if they were offered?

Parish Retreat 7/31/2015 – 8/2/2015
The Parish Retreat which will be held at the St. Leonard Youth Retreat House in Avon, Ohio. The retreat will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 31 and conclude at 1:00 PM Sunday August 2. All parishioners – single, married, divorced and widowed – of all ages – are invited. Bring the entire family! Meals are included.
The goal of the retreat is to strengthen faith and build community while having fun. The theme is “Nazareth” which will break open the daily living of our faith. The program features shared scripture, music and meals as well as breakout groups for children, teens and adults.

The Fest 2015, Sunday, 8/9/2015
FEST 2015, our Catholic Family FESTival is Sunday, August 9th from Noon till 10:00 PM at the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe. Thousands from across the region will come for a day o faith, family and fun and it’s all FREE!
Great Music will be heard from Matt Maher, Building 429, Steven Curtis Chapman and MercyMe.
Outdoor Mass beins at 8:00 PM followed by fireworks.
Parking is convenient.

Homecoming Festival, 7/18/2015
The St. Malachi’s 150th Anniversary Homecoming Festival will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 2:00 PM-8:00PM on the St. Malachi Campus at West 25th St. and Detroit Ave. There will be entertainment, food, fun and activities for all ages. Admission is free.
A full schedule of music and performances will occur between 2PM and 8:00PM (see sidebar for details). Highlights include DJ Paul Farace, the Leneghan Academy of Irish Dance, the West Side Irish American Club Pipe Band, and Brigid’s Cross. Other activities include history displays, videotaped stories of our past, church tours, food trucks, and games, including a corn hole tournament.
All are welcome including current and past parishioners, friends and anyone interested in a good time!
