Young adults in their twenties and thirties are invited to “Jesus, the Face of God’s Mercy” retreat at Bethany Retreat Center in Chardon. The retreat begins Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 9:00AM and concludes on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Noon. The retreat includes young adult witness talks, time for quiet and for sharing, the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Sunday Mass. Cost is $40. Donald Dunson, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul (Elyria) and moral theology professor at St. Mary Seminary will address “Citizen of the World: Suffering and Solidarity in the 21st Century” at the First Friday Club of Cleveland on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:30AM at the Cleveland City Club located at 850 Euclid Avenue, 2nd Floor.

The St. Malachi Liturgy Commission meeting is rescheduled Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 6:30PM in the rectory. Our special guest will be our own Deacon Leo who will speak about the role of the deacon in liturgy (and parish life!)
We will also discuss plans for the Jubilee Year of Mercy and begin Lenten preparation. All welcome!
On Tuesday, January 19, 2016 Deacon Leo and Nancy Bistak are our Everyday Prophets. Deacon Leo and Nancy are married 48 years. They both have Masters in Pastoral Ministry. Both have certificates in Spiritual direction/retreat direction, belong to Pax Christi since 1990 and are currently involved with Ignatian Volunteer Corps.
We start at 12:30 (after Noon Mass) in the hall. Bring a lunch (beverage & dessert are provided). Everyday Prophets is a lunch time program to celebrate the work and dedication of those in our community who serve others. Come, enjoy the stories, fellowship and shared inspiration.
Weather permitting, there is an Anniversary Peace Walk Wednesday, January 20, 2016. We will meet at 7:15 PM in the St. Malachi parking lot. We will stop at the Renaissance afterwards to honor Fred Leonard, one of the Peace Walk founders. If you cannot do the walk, join us at the Renaissance afterwards.
