Children ages three through ten are invited to participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 9:00 AM Mass on the first and third Sundays of each month. The children will have the opportunity to draw closer to the Word of God through the scriptures of the week. The presider will invite children after the opening prayer to participate. They will return as a group after the homily.
On Sunday, December 15, 2019 St. Malachi Parish will again deliver fruit baskets to the residents at Lakeview Tower Apartments (2700 Washington Ave). This unique St. Malachi tradition is a memorable opportunity for families and individuals to share a gift and a smile with our neighbors during the Christmas Season. Please save the date and plan on joining other parishioners and volunteers in this effort.

If you can prepare a turkey or bring a side dish, add your name to the proper page of the 3-ring binder at the main church doors. Bishop Emeritus Richard Lennon passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 after having received the prayerful support of the sacraments. .He had vascular dementia. Bishop Lennon served the eight county diocese of Cleveland from May 2006 through December 2016. The wake for Bishop Lennon will begin with a prayer service at 3:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2019 at St. John’s Cathedral. Bishop Nelson Perez will preside. After the prayer service, the wake will continue until 7:00 PM. Bishop Lennon’s body will lie in state from 8:30-10:45 AM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Bishop Perez will be the celebrant. The funeral will be live-streamed on the diocese’s website at dioceseofcleveland.org. As a result of the funeral, there will be No Noon Mass on Tuesday.

Heavenly Father, when your only begotten Son Jesus Christ rose from the dead, he commissioned his followers to “go and make disciples of all nations” and you remind us that through our Baptism we are made sharers in the mission of the Church. Empower us by the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be courageous and zealous in bearing witness to the Gospel, so that the mission entrusted to the Church, which is still very far from completion, may find new and efficacious expressions that bring life and light to the world. Help us make it possible for all peoples to experience the saving love and mercy of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen
