Next Weekend – Faith and Values Appeal for Education – 8/21/2022

Catholic schools make a profound impact on a child’s life. Y    ou can help provide more opportunities for students to obtain a Catholic education. Next weekend, a special parish appeal, the Faith and Values Appeal for Education, will be held across the diocese to raise funds to help provide tuition assistance to needy students and their families right here in our diocese. Please be generous in your support of Catholic school students.

 

Stewardship Moments: Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Martha and Mary are the focus of this weekend’s Gospel, which abounds with rich themes about hospitality, service, and finding the right balance between action and prayerful attention to the Lord. Christians who are good stewards of their faith life realize that if they are too busy to enjoy peaceful, private time with the Lord, then something is out of balance in their spiritual lives. If we make time for Mass, but then carry on with our busy schedules without prayer, meditation and reflection, we are missing out. If we find ourselves anxious and harried by life’s routines, could it be a sign that something in our spiritual life needs some serious attention?

 

Collection for Catechetical Services, 05/07 – 05/08/2022

This weekend is the annual appeal for our Diocesan Office of Catechetical Services. The Office supports & enhances the catechetical initiative (PSR programs) throughout the Diocese & supports faith formation for all, including adult faith formation, catechetical leader training & catechist formation for teachers of religion, media literacy, & college Newman Campus Ministry.

Your support is an investment in faith formation & religious education throughout the Diocese of Cleveland.

April 23 & 24 we will take up the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Today, nearly 40% of dioceses in the United States and its territories are unable to fund the essential pastoral work their communities need. Holy Land Appeal

A special collection for the care of the holy places & the Holy Land’s Christian community is scheduled for Good Friday. Because of Good Friday’s solemnity, we choose not to take up a collection during the service. Please return your Holy Land Appeal envelope in the collection on Easter.

 

Final Week for Lenten Collection

As we walk with Jesus through Holy Week, we call to mind the countless men, women and children who even today carry heavy crosses: crosses of hunger, of homelessness, of a lack of resources or security. In these brothers and sisters we encounter Christ, as he walks that long road to Calvary.  As we prepare to celebrate Easter with joy, it is our responsibility as members of God’s one human family to share that joy with everyone, near and far. Thank you for supporting Catholic Relief Services through your Lenten prayers, fasting and almsgiving. . Please return your contribution by 5.1.22 at the latest. You can place a donation in the collection basket with CRS in the memo line or send to the rectory.
