Next weekend is the annual Retirement Fund for Religious which supports women & men from religious communities who have served God’s people in ministry, & are now retired and whose communities lack funds to provide for them in their retirement in a proper and dignified manner.
There will be a second collection at all Masses. Please be generous.

Thank you! Thank you! #weGiveCatholic was a success because of your generosity to St. Malachi Parish.
We raised $54,670 and won First Prize in the “Small but Mighty Parish” category. This will add an extra $2,000 to our total! (189 donors)
(We won’t know how much was raised for St. Malachi during the Brad Watterson/Anonymous Match for several days. We thank everyone who supported St. Malachi at 2PM with their donation — and there were many!)
St. Malachi Parish would like to give special recognition to our #weGiveCatholic Matching Donors!
Our Matching Donors have contributed more than just money to our event. Their participation added excitement to the event and we are grateful to them for elevating #weGiveCatholic to a major fundraiser for St. Malachi Parish.

Their stories and a prayer for their canonization is included! May they inspire our faith in action!

A group has been journeying in faith, prayer, and discussion since early September. These “inquirers” are taking the next step called the Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens and the Rite of Welcome as Baptized Candidates seeking full communion in the Catholic Church. These Rites are celebrated at 11 AM Mass at St. Patrick on the First Sunday of Advent. Jeff Rotheram, Ryan Mann, and Joanne Butera will enter the Order of Catechumens. Wyatt Bensken will publicly become a Candidate for Full Communion. As they declare their intention, the Church accepts their commitment and pledges its support. The symbols of the Rite express its meaning. Catechumens and Candidates are greeted at the church door by the baptized community, where they are welcomed to enter. The threshold, or door, symbolizes transition into a new way of life in the Church. To enter the Church is to enter into Christ’s dying and rising. The signing with the cross of the bodies of the catechumens symbolizes their readiness to bear witness to Christ and walk in his ways. The Word of God and the Assembly reveal God’s presence in the good and the bad, as well as the need to be always nourished by His Word. The Catechumen is an official title in the Church, which means “one in whom the Word of God echoes.” Let us pray, celebrate, and give thanks for the work that God is doing!

Let us not forget to pray for the Palestinian and Israeli peoples: May the Lord bring a just peace. There is so much suffering! Children are suffering, the sick are suffering, and many people are dying. War is always a defeat. Let us not forget: War is always a defeat! I ask that every possible avenue be pursued to absolutely avoid an escalation of the conflict, to provide assistance to the wounded, and to deliver aid to the population of Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is extremely dire. I implore you to stop, in the name of God, Cease fire!
