Men’s Spiritual Retreat Gathering, Thank You!
Thank you to all the St. Malachi folks who remembered us in prayer & good thoughts during the Men’s Spring Retreat. 22 wonderful men gathered at Our Ladies of the Pines Retreat Center. It was a wonderful retreat. We dealt with the topic “Friendship: Its Many Faces and Phases.” During the retreat we had a “Table of Remembrance” dedicated to all the men who, at one time, were involved with the men’s retreat & are now gone. Men like Al Francis, Frank Schiros, Steve McConville, Bill Jacob, Rick Crow, Paul Kunkel, Luis Gutierrez, Tony DiNardo and Dennis Stramel. We have their pictures & tell their stories so they are never forgotten. It’s a special time during the retreat as tears flow for them.
StandIn for Homeless Children, 2019
Nearly 3,000 students experienced homelessness since the fall of 2018. Sadly, the number continues to climb throughout the school year. Why We’re Standing—Homeless children are threatened by a cycle of poverty that leaves them stigmatized and struggling for normalcy – with little hope of escape. Right now, it’s imperative that Cleveland has eyes to SEE this crisis. How We’re Standing– You’re invited to STAND with your community in Public Square on Saturday, June 29, to represent each homeless student in our city. And we won’t simply be raising awareness – we’ll be transforming awareness into action. Join The City Mission & SERVE your young, hurting neighbors by participating on From 4-7PM we’ll have live worship, prayer, food trucks, words from city and church leaders, activities for all ages, and more. There’s no cost to attend, so gather your crew and register today!

From Pope Francis, 06/2019
This month (June 2019) marks the 4th Anniversary of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si, On Care for Our Common Home. Here is a quote: “Concern for others and the natural environment attunes us to the moral imperative of assessing the impact of our every action and personal decision on the world around us… An awareness of the gravity of today’s cultural and ecological crisis must be translated into new habits. Small yet strong in the love of God, like St. Francis of Assisi, all of us Christians are called to watch over and protect the fragile world in which we live, and all it is peoples.”
