This weekend is the Catholic Relief Services Collection. This is your opportunity to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people around the world and here in the United States. Your support funds organizations that aid travelers, people affected by war and natural disasters, others whose work or unique cultural circumstances require special pastoral support, and migrants and refugees displaced by conflict, persecution, or political instability. Please be generous.

More than $52 million was raised by 13,520 donors. (Totals include a $3 million commitment by the Diocese of Cleveland.) In addition to supporting the seminary renovation, priest pension retirement fund, and education debt relief for newly ordained clergy, this campaign includes a share going back to parishes for local projects. $12.9 million has already been distributed to parishes. The Heart of a Shepherd campaign was a tremendous success as a result of the generosity of donors. The campaign faced challenges due to COVID and the resultant mandated suspension of public Masses. It was amazing that we raised so much money during a pandemic. Thanks to Patrick Grace’s leadership and organization, the Catholic Community Foundation’s efforts, and all those who worked on the campaign.
