While events may be tentative at this time, it is important that we get them on the calendar. The annual calendar allows us to create a draft of the monthly activity calendar for your review and revision. If you have questions, please call the rectory.

Week 3: Mission Statement (Who we are and what we do) – “We are Catholic Communities, rooted in the Eucharist, inspired by the Holy Spirit to be the heart and hands of Christ.” Tasked with creating a Mission Statement was an important piece of our Strategic Alignment Plan. To begin; each member of the CSC reflected on our Vision Retreat, our experiences at St. Malachi and St. Patrick, who we want to be as we join together in our faith and within our communities, and what we represent. Pondering each of these elements helped form the Mission Statement above. Through discussion, each of us realized this statement embodies our new collaborative entity. For instance, each part of this statement describes various fragments of our new collaborative but also encompasses both the spirit of St. Malachi and St. Patrick churches. We continue to intentionally say we are (the plural) “Catholic Communities.” While we are joining as one, we still want to maintain our unique identities. Furthermore, when we state, “rooted in the Eucharist, inspired by the Holy Spirit,” we want others to know exactly that, that we believe in the real presence of Jesus through Eucharist and are inspired by the Holy Spirit. What we do comes from being who we are, what we believe and what we are inspired by. Thus, we do God’s work as the heart and hands of Christ. We are His disciples in the World, doing service in His name. As you yourselves reflect on each element of our Strategic Alignment Plan, the CSC hopes you also appreciate each word and more importantly, the meaningful thoughts that built each statement from these words. Thank you, may you have a blessed (and reflective) week.
