ST. MALACHI REVERSE RAFFLE 
Tickets are now available for the annual St. Malachi Reverse Raffle, which will be held on Friday, October 3 at Brennan's Party Center. Tickets are $100 for dinner for two and a chance for the main board prize of $3,000. Tickets are available at the back of church and in rectory. We need and are looking for people to put together a table of 4 or 5 couples and to help with the committee. Please contact Mary Jane Treichel at (216) 861-5343

ST. MALACHI CENTER 16TH ANNUAL GOLF OUTING 
The St. Malachi Center 16th Annual Golf Outing is Friday August 29 with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. You can find brochures at the doors of the Church & online at www.StMalachiCenter.org/news/2008golfouting.pdf . You can still register for golf or join us for a great steak dinner for $35 at 2 pm - call Jackie Bluett or Ginny Suhr at (216) 771-3036. 

ST. MALACHI CENTER ANNIVERSARY RAFFLE
This year, the Center is offering a “progressive” raffle, with drawings every month! Tickets are only $12/each or three for $30! Buy your ticket at the back of Church or at Coffee Hour to have a chance in this month's drawing! Winning tickets go back into the “hopper” to be eligible to win the other monthly and the grand or runner-up prize. The grand prize is $5000 and the runner-up prize is $1000. The drawings for these prizes are in November.

FANS NEEDED
People in the neighborhood have expressed a need for electric fans. If you have an extra fan around the house to donate, we could sure use it! Please put it in a plastic bag & mark the bag clearly “Community Social Action Committee.” Please leave the fans at the front of the church before or after Masses. If you can purchase a new fan to donate that would be fan-tastic!.

SCRIPTURE STUDY
You are invited to join a Scripture Study class on the Gospel According to Matthew to be held at St. Brendan Church on ten consecutive Tuesday's starting September 9. For your convenience the class will be offered at two separate times: either 9:30-10:30 AM, or 7-8 PM and will be led by Susan Gemperline (MA in Theology). This class will provide insight into the formation of the Gospels, the time and culture in which Jesus' earthly ministry took place, as well as an in-depth study of the Gospel itself, how it spoke in the past and how it continues to speak to us. “VATICAN SPLENDORS” EXHIBIT 
The “Vatican Splendors” exhibit at The Western Reserve Historical Society is in its final weeks! This special exhibit of treasures from St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum & the Papal Swiss Guards closes September 7. Ticket prices: regular adult -- $20; seniors -- $18, children (6-12) -- $14. The sixth FUNdraiser benefiting St. Malachi Center at Max & Erma's Restaurant, 30105 Detroit Rd., Westlake is on Thursday, September 25. Bring a coupon and all your friends and family to lunch or dinner. Carry-out sales count too! Max & Erma's will donate 20% of all food and beverage sales that day to St. Malachi Center. SAINT JOHN CANTIUS ANNUAL POLISH FESTIVAL
Saint John Cantius Church (906 College Ave. in Tremont) will have their Annual Polish Festival Friday to Sunday of Labor Day weekend, August 29-31, with activities, music, & Polish cuisine. Free Admission, Held in Air Conditioned Hall. For information please call (216) 781-9095.

ANNUAL FREE OUTDOOR CONCERT
St. Martin of Tours “Light of the World” prayer group is hosting their annual free outdoor concert, “Praise in the Valley,” with area musicians leading songs of worship on Saturday, August 30, (Labor Day weekend) at 6 p.m., (following the 5 p.m. vigil Mass) at 1800 Station Road, Valley City. Bring a lawn chair and a nonperishable food item for the parish food bank. Refreshments will be sold. Rain or shine - if it's raining we'll be in the Parish Center.
