CHURCH STEPS REPAIR
For the past several weeks, there has been a serious deterioration of the cement holding the brick pavers on the steps on the north side (school building side) of the church. Our attempts to negotiate with the company who did the original work has been unsuccessful. After consulting with several experts, we have been advised to remove the pavers and repair & seal the concrete steps underneath. Work should begin this coming week; there should be full access on the weekends. The project will cost $2,950.
CLUSTER PLANNING UPDATE
Inserted with this bulletin is the current update from our Cluster Planning Committee of representative from the Parish, the Community, St. Patrick & St. Wendelin. Attached with the brief report is a draft of a Vision and Goals Statement for our cluster that the committee adopted at our last meeting. It is called a “draft” because we are seeking input from each cluster parish. Please offer your comments to any member of the Cluster members from St. Malachi Parish: Fr. Tony, Mary Jane Treichel, Mike French, Greg Gacka and Sheila Berry. As our planning process continues, the goal statements will be “fleshed out” with more specific strategies and action steps. As the update notes, in the next phase of our planning process the committee will begin proposing and analyzing various possible scenarios for consolidating our four parishes to “no more than two,” in accord with Bishop Lennon's letter. As previously reported, the Cluster Planning Committee has established a goal of August 1 to be able to bring a recommendation to the parishes for full discussion.
BEING THE PEOPLE OF GOD SPEAKER SERIES
Being the People of God is a series about answering the call of our Baptism. Fr. Mike Woost, theology professor at St. Mary Seminary will present the second of the baptismal charisms: Prophet this Tuesday, May 6, at 7 PM in the school hall. Fr. Woost will offer the final presentation in this series, King/Servant on Tuesday May 20. We will break up into groups at the end of each evening to reflect & bring to light how to manifest what we have learned.
WITNESS T-SHIRTS
Are you a witness? Witness T-shirts are available at Malachi Mart. The T-shirts continue to be available in adult sizes for $10. All proceeds go to St. Malachi Center. Pentecost is next Sunday, May 11.
PARISH COUNCIL OPENINGS
Parish Council represents the people of St. Malachi; it is the most important consultative group in the parish. This coming year, as our clustering plan is completed and presented to the Bishop, Parish Council will be even more important. There are several openings for the coming year. If you are interested in serving or need more information, contact Carolyn Meyer, (216) 671-7619.

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows him. But you know him, because he remains with you, and will be in you." - Jn 14:15-17
